Where to choose a villa in Mallorca
In the north of Mallorca is the delightful resort of Puerto Pollensa with its deep, horseshoe-shaped bay and smaller neighbour Cala San Vicente. The Pollensa area is much sought after and many of the villas we list can be found in this area. Also popular with villa owners on Mallorca is the north east, where the smaller resorts of Canyamel and Cala Ratjada provide an alternative to the more concrete attractions of Cala Bona and Cala Millor. Alternatively, you can head inland for your villa holiday; into the cooler, pine clad mountains which form a chain in the west. Villages and small towns like Deia, Orient or the clifftop Banyalbufar are relatively untouched by holiday development. Finally, if you prefer days on the beach and evenings in a lively resort, a villa holiday in the Cala d'Or area in the south could be your best bet. Can Collet Vell is a beautiful converted house situated in a peaceful countryside just at 15´minutes drive to the old town of Pollensa. The property has lots of traditional Mallorcan features and furnishings, and it is surrounded by olive grove and mature gardens. It has lovely views towards the Serra de Tramontana mountain range. Inside, the house has large rooms and lots of space. It is cool and comfortable with a mixture of white washed walls; terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings. Deeper into the countryside we arrive at the Villa El Clos. This lovely cottage is situated outside the old town of Pollensa in a very pretty area known as the Colonya Valley just a 10 minutes drive to the historic town of Pollensa. It is a relaxing villa with lovely mountain views and a nice garden. Inside, the design is totally traditional with some modern touches, terracotta tiles, wooden floors and also wooden beamed ceiling. The large front covered terrace leads into the lounge dining and open kitchen, this totally equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave and a fridge freezer. The lounge has two sofas and it is equipped with satellite TV and a DVD player. Wooden stairs lead up to a mezzanine bedroom with two single beds, ideal for older children or couples. A corridor gives access to the rest of the bedrooms, one twin and one double which both have sloping roofs that gives the house a cosy atmosphere. Both bedrooms have wardrobes and wooden floors. A full bathroom completes the villa. The gardens and pool are very well presented, surrounded by palm, lemon and fig trees plus many other small plants and flowers such as cacti and roses. Rustic finca estate at 4 km distance from Felanitx with a plot of 120.000 m² populated by pine, carob, fig trees, holms etc. There a two natural founds on the land which carry water all year through - one of these provides water for the old 'safareig' converted into a pool of 20 x 12 m. The house itself has 420 m² of living space on two floors. On ground level you´ll find the entrance hall, and 2 bedrooms with a double bed each one (one with bathroom en suite, the other one with a separate bathroom). Apart from that there is a dining room with a large table and two living rooms on diferent levels with a fireplace. Sa Torre is a magnificent property with a spacious, new landhouse. It consists of five bedrooms: two of them with doble beds and their own, private bathrooms, one of them furnished with a jacuzzi, the other one has got a round bathtub, a small dressing room with a wardrobe, and the other two doble bedrooms are furnished with two single beds each and have their private bathrooms, too; furthermore a room with a bunk bed and a chaise longue in the living-room, which can be used for additional guests. There are two large living-rooms, one of them is equipped with SAT-TV and a music set, the other one, a living - dining room, is fitted out with an open fire place and a beautyful, big teak table for 12 dinner guests. Both living rooms have been constructed with large windows, so the rooms are full of light allowing views of the terrace and the garden. The kitchen is completely equipped with a microwave oven, coffee machine, etc., and you will find a laundry room with washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, iron - and ironing board and two WC´s at your disposal. The house has underfloor heating in all its rooms. Nearly all the furniture of the house is made of teak, recently imported from Thailand, which gives the house its very special charm. On the back side of the house is a big terrace with a BBQ, a swimming pool surrounded by sunbeds and a small lake with fishes in the midst of olives, holms and palm trees. Botana is a popular complex of twelve semi-detached villas in the resort of Cala San Vicente, conveniently situated within just a short stroll to the sandy coves and resort amenities.
